Re: Dany - Villain? Savior? Something else?
Daenerys is none of these: she's "just" a protagonist. I think that the problem comes from looking at the roles from typical fantasy stories (in which there is "good" and "evil," and thus "heroes" and "villains") and trying to put them onto characters written according to modern literary/cinematic ...

Re: Religion in Westeros
But I’m hoping that there’s a lot more going on and that the apparent weakness of the New Gods is important to the endgame. Anybody have any insights? The New Gods almost certainly are not real: like gods in our world, people just invented them. The Old Gods are real, but not really "gods," at leas...

Re: End of Thrones.
Meh, I have an automatic mistrust, bordering on aversion, to anyone who thinks they were born to rule, particularly those who go about proclaiming it on a regular basis Plus it always makes me think of this exchange in Monty Python and the Holy Grain: King Arthur : I am your king. Dennis's Mother :...

Re: Where is ghost?
Ghost has always been semi wild and chilling. He followed the NW and Sam when Jon went with Ygritte. He just hangs out. He'll probably show up in the next episode or the one after that, I think.

Dany - Villain? Savior? Something else?
I've been hearing this take on Dany, that she's going to become villainous and a rep of fire evil. Personally, I disagree. I feel like Dany already is a benevolent and beloved ruler. She has learned how to show strength and restraint. Usually she is 100% righteous, empathetic and just. She's not 100...

Re: End of Thrones.
Want to happen : The White Walkers and Dragons battle it out til both are eradicated since they represent the worst impulses of mankind's destructive nature. Normal seasons return to Westeros and there is no need for a Wall. The Iron Throne is eliminated and a more democratic form of government is ...

Re: Hound Fires
(So I'm going to bring up something that Vanessa has officially written up in a news item but is still a bit spoilerish, so any avidly avoiding everything not in the show may want to run away. Sorry.) In the Hound's vision, everyone is convinced that he's seeing Eastwatch by the Sea because that's ...

Re: AGOT special edition
You may have a point. It very deservedly has quite a legion of fans. Def deservedly! A few season premieres broke viewing records. It broke Emmy records. It might be the most DLd show too. Not to mention the wide range of demographics that most shows don't hit altogether. Amazing book series origin...

Re: End of Thrones.
(that's his type, like Ygritte) Lyanna Mormont does not have red hair! :) Lol, neither does Dany, and they're everyone's favorite ship. A person's type isn't necessarily about coloring and size. Her fierceness, warriorhood, confidence and no-frills straight-talking are what they have in common. I d...
