Thanks. I find this really strange. We'llsee how it plays on screen I guess. Jaime can't stay submerged underwater for that long, so you would think Dany would see him surface and he would be a huge bargaining chip she could use.

How's the Dany/Jorah reunion? Satisfying? Does he tell Jon that Sam saved his life?
There isn't much wrtten about Jorah and Dany's reunion, it will probably be a very quick scene. It sounds somewhat amusing and friendzone-ish.

What? Is this for real? How does he link up with Jon? Jon leaves DS this episode and comes back for him? I thought Jon heads for Eastwatch and episode 6 they are beyond the Wall?

And how does Tyrion go undetected in KL?
Tyrion doesn't walk around openly in Kings Landing. My guess is that this meeting is somewhere in the middle of the episode, while Jon leaves closer to the end of the episode.
Ok cool so Gendry goes with them? Does Jorah tell Jon about Sam?
It doesn't seem like it. Gendry also doesn't mention Arya to Jon.

Yes, the Sam and Gilly scenes does sound good, and yes you are right Gerndry has now morphed into Edric Storm.

I am interested to see how the North will play out in season 8. We know that the Wall falls down and that the Nights King crosses the Wall in episode 7. Jon and Dany are on their way to the Wall. Will they somehow realise that the Wall has come down while they are sailing to Eastwatch? It could take them some time to reach Winterfell, they wouldn't end up there immediately, by the time they reach Winterfell it might be surrounded by wights. The White Walkers will have to get into the South rather quickly, otherwise their threat wouldn't seem to be that important. They would need to cause some damage to the South. When Jon and Dany reaches Winterfell the White Walkers might be attacking or laying siege to Winterfell. I could almost see a scenario where Dany has to burn a path through some wights in order to get into Winterfell. My guess by the time Jon and Dany reaches Winterfell the picture would have changed a lot, and they might care less about the kneeling. (I am speculating that the White Walkers cant enter Winterfell, perhaps Winterfell is protected by some spell.)

On the other hand there might still be a chance that Jon and Dany come to some agreement about a marriage allience. It is strange how there are several conversations about Dany being barren, and about Jon saying that he doesn't care. At this point one of their many advisors should have addressed or considered a marriage allience. One could say that it is almost a measure of incompetence from the advisors, that they haven't address the issue yet.

I hope some of these Lords within the North are killed by wights or White Walkers. Then again the Lords within the North are so idiotic they would even complain about Jon, with White Walkers are standing right outside of the gates. At this point they just deserve to die.
In the books Jon has some wights in the ice cells, but they haven't risen yet. If they don't rise, then he'll probably order an expedition. I don't think he'd go himself in the books, but the show needs him to. HBO won't waste millions of dollars on a large battle scene unless a lead character is involved, so Jon has to be there to carry the episode/battle sequence.

I also feel like D&D don't know what to do with Jon this season and that's why they came up with wight hunt. They can't keep Bran in the cave too long (bad for tv), so they have to get him back to Winterfell. However, it's too soon for Jon to learn about his parentage for some reason, so Jon needs to not be in Winterfell when Bran arrives. Jon also can't be in Winterfell because that leaves LF and Sansa without a storyline. So the alternative is to get him to hang out with Dany, which is better than doing nothing, but he's a lead character so he needs more material to work with and D&D need some battle scenes to fill up the season.

I'm 99% sure Gendry will get Storm's End in the show (Edric will get it imo in the books).

As things stand now: I won't be surprised if Last Hearth and Karhold fall to the WW early, and the survivors go to Winterfell for safety. As Winterfell is attacked by wights, Jon/Dany/Dragons/Dany's armies come to the rescue at the last minute and hold them off. The WW retreat for an episode, so all the drama in Winterfell can take center stage (Jon pledging to Dany, Jon's parentage, reunions, etc). Then the war continues???

It's stupid that a Jon/Dany marriage hasn't been addressed yet. It seems like D&D are delaying this on purpose just so they can manufacture some drama. Maybe Jon feels that as a bastard he doesn't deserve a highborn lady? Or maybe the people on Dany's side think her marrying a bastard would be beneath her? It's dumb anyway  Just marry. She's not Talisa.

Jon is too good for the North. He should go South and get warm like he wanted to.

I've just finished reading the rough outlines for the first 3 episodes and I couldn't agree more. People who still claim that D&D's favorites aren't Sansa and Dany need to get their eyes checked. It's also ridiculous how much D&D shit on Jon. I bet they weren't pleased to make him KITN last season  Thank god for competent directors, editors, Kit etc.
The weird part is that one minute they're hatesturbating all over him and just copying and pasting typo-laden pre-teen rants straight out of Tumblr, and the next they have everyone standing around awestruck over what a vunderkind he is. Davos, Lyanna, and the northerners can't help but admire what a natural leader and amazing King he is, Dany wonders if someone as "talented" and accomplished as Jon is actually an ally or a threat to her, and Davos gushes to Gendry about how he's serving the greatest King ever. Their #1 Creator's Pet hates his ass, yet every other beloved protagonist adores him. It's seriously giving me whiplash.

They've actually been much more equitable in their presentation of the Jon/Dany dynamic than I ever expected. Jon stands his ground, earns her respect and affection, and actually accomplishes what he set out to do on Dragonstone. And if that Winterfell meeting makes it into the episode, I'm perfectly fine with Jon giving Dany the keys to the North once she agrees to help him. "His people" never deserved his devotion to begin with. If anything, I think Tyrion's the one being thrown under the bus for Dany's and Cersei's benefit. All of his plans go to shit, he's the one who arranges the parlay, and he and Jaime both underestimate the woman they freaking GREW UP WITH.

The Dragonstone and King's Landing scenes sound pretty good while Winterfell sounds like a proper hot mess. Reading these outlines (including the ones for the first three episodes), it's funny to see how much D&D had to rein in their biases when it came to writing the final scripts. There's also really no denying those biases once you see them laid out in plain text like that. We're very fortunate that the directing, editing, acting, scoring, and cinematography are able to tell a much more nuanced and meaningful story.

Accurate af. The minute Jon set foot on southern shores, he was suddenly allowed to be self-aware, make valid points without being undermined, and demonstrate a positive influence on those around him. Arya enters Winterfell, and the Faceless Woman trained to see through lies and manipulations is suddenly more pliable than clay. My only hope is that Samwell and Bran drop the truth of Jon's parentage on him ASAP, so that Aegon Targaryen can helpfully point out to the Northerners that he didn't actually hand the kingdom over to a dragon - THEY did.

The hilarious part about these episode 5 outlines is that apparently the wight hunt is Tyrion's idea. But I'm sure everyone will just blame Jon again as usual. Even though the plan itself actually kind of makes sense. Dany can't fight two wars at the same time.
The wight hunt and the meeting with Cersei is Tyrion's idea, Frikidockter's leaks said the same thing. I think the confusion started because the original lads made it sound like it was all Jon's idea. That is why people have been "blaming" Jon for some strange reason. As I said for me personally this was never a bad idea, the wight hunt that is, I am not referring to meeting with Cersei in the Dragonpit. The meeting with Cersei and the whole Dragonpit thing still sounds very illogical to me.

From the original leaks people have complained about some of the strangest choices within the plot. Some of the things people complain about, just seems very obvious or easy to understand if you apply yourself.

I dont really understand why anyone wanted to blame someone or Jon in the first place. It was always very obvious that people wouldn't just believe in the White Walkers, but the White White walkers are also meant to get past the Wall, it is something that has been bound to happen one way or the other. It is fate at this point. Just because I know it was Tyrion's idea I am not suddenly going to start blaming him for the Wall coming down. T

They don't much care for Jon as a character, but they have to stick to GRRM's outline. Jon becoming KITN and earning the respect of several leaders/beloved characters is exactly what has happened/will probably happen in the books. Guess it must be hard for them

Haha I know right? "Here, Dany, they're all yours!" If D&D keep that scene the way it is written and if the North spurns Jon then and in season 8, then I won't be surprised if this rejection pushes him into embracing his Targ side and going South with Dany. If they don't see what he's done for them throughout all the years, they don't deserve him.

Tyrion's transformation post season 4 is sad to see. Tyrion, Jaime AND Varys are supposedly very familiar with Cersei and the scripts act like they only just met her. Reading their portrayal this season makes me feel like I've seen smarter characters in a Scooby Doo episode.

I won't blame Tyrion either. They have to provide proof in order to stop the war against Cersei, as Dany can't fight two wars at the same time, and they need all the armies they can get. And really nobody could have foreseen the NK being such an expert javelin thrower and getting a dragon for himself. I feel like the Wall has to fall anyway for the NK to be destroyed, and there are many other ways it could realistically fall. Otherwise Westeros will just be fighting petty wars.

I have looked around on Freefolk but I am apparently blind today for some reason. :?

Yes, that is exactly what I meant, you can't defeat the Nights King if he doesn't get past the Wall, that is why it is meant to happen. If it wasn't suppose to happen then Bran could have addressed the issue in that raven he sends.

Jon embracing his Targaryen heritage would actually be an unexpected twist. But it could actually work if the Northern Lords keep on acting like jackasses. Even during Jon's time in the Nights Watch he has been protecting their asses. They didn't even send any help to the Wall when they needed help against the Wildling army. Those Wildlings could easily have plundered their way through the North.

I agree with the notion that they didn't know exactly what they wanted to do with Jon this season. Tyrion is a caricature at this point, perhaps his face was stolen by a faceless man. ;)

I actually don't think they didn't know what to do with Jon this season. They needed him and Dany to hook up.Also they needed to divert Dany from her conquest. This fits naturally with his desire and mission to save humanity. So the path was clear.Obviously they also need the badass Kit action sequence and he can't meet Bran and Arya yet.I honestly don't know what other thing he could have done staying in the north.Play second fiddle to Sansa/LF?This way he is in the midst of action everywhere and his motivations throughout the season are clear. At the same he gets to meet a lot of new characters and gets much closer to his Targ side.
