I agree. This is written very much in the rhythms and verbal habits of each character. If these are fake, whoever wrote these, D&D need to hire them. Well written, realistic in tone, to fake this would take a skilled wordsmith who is incredibly well versed in the GoT series.Dani with an I wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2017 5:01 pmThese seem entirely realistic. With fan fiction, the writer usually seems to have the same tone/style throughout. But with these, each character sounds like themselves and each one varied, which takes multiple authors (or just GRRM) and extensive proofing. Tyrion with his witty one-liners and the Hound in his usual bad mood. Fans know to write these characters this way but usually execute poorly.
These just seem entirely credible. Especially with the way in which they came across them (a secured iPad with omitted pages). Oh yes, I think we are finally in spoiler season!

"We can see a single, decayed hand latch onto the wagon. It digs its nails into the wood, then pulls itself up, revealing… QHONO.
"The tall, jacked Dothraki bloodrider is no longer himself. The skin on his face is rotten and peeled back. Bits of skeleton poke out of his arms, also decayed."
This part doesn't ring true. When the dead rangers of Benjen's group were brought into CB, Sam noticed the lack of decay. Because of the extremely cold weather, the Dothraki's body could not possibly be decayed with bits of skeleton poking through his skin!

They all died north of the wall and many of them are basically falling apart. The answer to your question is budget restrictions. They didn't have the money to make the Wights look as good as they do now, when they introduced them in S1.
Budget restrictions is a fair point. However, if you recall Hardhome, then the wildlings that just died and were raised by the NK didn't appear so decayed. In particular is the shot of the female wildling leader who gets her kids on the boat. She did'nt have a rotting face with peeling skin. So perhaps in S1 there were budget restrictions but for continuity and storyline they had to incorporate Sam's observations. i.e. the older dead look more decayed and the newly dead not so decayed. Lyanna makes a fair point also I think.Violator wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2018 4:22 amHave you seen the army of Wights?Lyannabanna wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2018 9:04 pm"We can see a single, decayed hand latch onto the wagon. The Dothraki Bloodrider Wight
It really comes down to Common Sense:
Some of the wights in the NK's army are decayed and yucky-looking (like the one at the Dragon Pit showdown) because they were dead for a l-o-n-g time before they were resurrected.
As Stormborn pointed out: Except for ice-blue eyes, wights look exactly like they looked at the time they were resurrected (e.g. Hardhome).
Like the Hardhome wights, the Dothraki in this scenario was dead for only a short time—plus his remains would have been preserved by natural refrigeration in the prevailing weather (as today's mortuaries and morgues do with chilled compartments).
I disagree with Violoator: Budget is not the issue! Describing this wight as "rotten" just isn't realistic. If he/it turns out to look like this, it would offend the intelligence of most viewers!

^ The past 2 seasons have already offended the intelligence of most viewers.
Anyway, are Jaime and Brienne going to hook up this season before he kicks the bucket?
