How did Bran know about Rhaegar?

When Bran told Sam that Jon is Rhaegars son how did he know before seeing the final vision where Lyanna says Jon's name is Aegon?

He heard it from Lyanna in the final episode of season 6,obviously.It was only us,the audience,that didn't know about his name until Bran told Sam.
