I am trying to wean myself off GoT on the internet but I find myself being dragged back to watch reaction videos. Especially when I have a boring bit of typing to do. Anyway, something came up about transgender investigation in the suggested videos box and silly me I clicked on it. There seemed to be 3 main culprits "Rebooting Christianity, "Mr E" and "Apostle Laura Lee" - anyway there were claims that Puppy Eyes, I mean Jon Snow, Sansa, Brienne, Arya, Cersei, Daenerys and wait for it - Missandei are played by transgender people. Well, they'd have had to be "transgendered" at a pretty early age.

One of these YouTubers was quite vicious calling them "it" - but it's quite frightening that going by their comments some people believe them. There was much wittering on about length of fingers and hip indentation. I must admit it's a subject I know little about but from a google search there was as of last year a shortage of surgeons in the UK in the specialism. https://www.theguardian.com/society/201 ... h-the-roof I was surprised (not in the article itself but from clicking one of the links that there were apparently over 200 women wanting transgender operations. Well, they must be very unhappy to want such an extreme procedure but I couldn't help but think (though obviously it's less extreme) of ladies who think that having implants will make them happier; well some it could I guess.

Sensible me thinks well I already knew there was a lot of nuttiness on YouTube but annoyed me thinks that it is awful for people to assert such acidic and unpleasant attacks on folk they don't even know. I was more worried though that with lots of people having issues about their bodies being less than perfect (not talking about the actors here - just ordinary people) "Do I look like a tranny?" gives them something else to worry about besides "Does my bum book big in this?" or "Do my boobs look too small?". The actors will be able to laugh it off I guess and anyway they are reasonably well paid.

Still, when GoT was planned nobody would have known it would become the success it has. So many series only get one season - not necessarily bad series either - so how would so many sets of random parents have known all those years in advance to get their babies "transgendered" for GoT? (I'm pretty sure that transgendering a baby is against the law in Britain anyway unless it is something in the case of a child that has been born intersex, and I think even there the current preference is to wait until the intersex child is old enough to make a decision on the matter). Are we to assume that ALL actors/actresses have had some sort of transgender surgery including those who are in the UNSUCCESSFUL shows every year? I can't for the life of me understand where these YouTubers are coming from but it doesn't seem possible to reason with them - or if one comments the comments are ignored. The "Apostle" lady said something, I kid you not, about Alfie Allen wondering whether Alfie the name was something to do with an elf. No, the name "Alfie" was originally a diminutive of Alfred though of latter years it has come into use as a name in its own right (in the UK anyhow).

Sorry for my rant, folks, but I was so annoyed I had to get things off my chest. In future I will know not to click on what are far-fetched videos, but I hate it when people are maligned.

Actually folks I have now realised that these silly "transinvestigation|" videos have been going on for some considerable time and not just about people in GoT. I just got annoyed and had my rant. When I find time I might post links to some more positive GoT related videos to be more upbeat (or as upbeat as you can be in the GoT universe!)
