I haven't seen Downton Abbey as yet, confetti already, but from what people say I think Iain Glenn (Jorah) is in it at some point.
I forgot to mention upthread when I was wondering if the Tickler actor was in a clip from The Musketeers that the actress playing the Queen of France (Alexandra Dowling) also played Roslyn, the one attractive Frey daughter.
Spot the random GOT actor

Thanks Confetti A - I couldn't find any clips from a show broadcast on BBC about 5(? I think) years ago called Prisoners' Wives but have found one for the trailer of season 2. Enzo Cilenti (Yezzan in GoT) is at 0.28 ish and everybody's (well a lot of peoples') favourite friend zoned knight appears at 0.42 https://youtu.be/rv-s_Wt1W28
Of course, Iain Glenn has appeared on many British shows over the years - here he is (playing John Fielding - with the dark glasses) in a show called City of Vice which was about the founding of the Bow Street Runners (early attempt at policing London - the "city of vice" in the title) by the Fielding Brothers, Henry (who wrote Tom Jones the novel, though people likely know that), and his brother (or half-brother?) John. https://youtu.be/CYlGIjFzeog

Conleth Hill playing a titled gentleman in "Suits". I'd like to find something where he uses his natural Irish accent but no luck so far. https://youtu.be/Xg6NKTBIDs4

A few actors who cropped up on GoT had guest spots on Merlin:- Charles Dance https://youtu.be/MtN7m53Xv6s Alexandra Dowling again (though this is another of those putting scenes to a song clips) https://youtu.be/eHqFsVQaTRw Liam Cunningham played a sorcerer https://youtu.be/O_N1fV_l3dc ; John Bradley guested as well but I haven't been able to find a clip of him.

Couldn't find a clip of her acting in it but here Susan Brown (Septa Mordain) gives an interview about a play she was in Angels in America. https://youtu.be/boV9j6JDLQs
I didn't know Kara (Merlin) and Roslin (GOT) were played by the same actress. And I am a fan of both, I have bought both series bought on dvd.
But I'm the one who hadn't recognised Carice van Houten either. And I have a dvd box with movies with Carice. My native language is also Dutch, just like hers, but I'm from Belgium. When I read she played in GOT, I thought she played some minor character. I really had to look it up on imdb to know what role she was playing.

Well, Alexandra Dowling only played small parts in those shows. She had a larger part in The Musketeers where she played Anne of Austria. I didn't know Carice van Houten before GoT but when I looked her up I found some videos of her singing - I thought she had quite a good singing voice. I think Liam Cunningham was also in another version of the King Arthur legend Camelot - not the musical. I didn't like the Starz Camelot series though. I'll keep silent as to why because I have mentioned why I disliked it before albeit some time ago.

I'm only posting a link to an answer to a quora question here - it seems I merely scratched the surface when I mentioned 4 people being in both series. There were a whole bunch of members of the acting profession who appeared in both series - I've had to edit this because the link didn't go to the specific answer so I'll give the names of the people the old fashioned way but the kudos does not go to me but to a couple of Quora readers (I am putting the GoT character name first:- Julian Glover - Pycelle/Lochru; James Cosmo; Commander Mormont/Hengist; Joe Dempsie - Gentry/William; Joseph Mawle - Benjen/Alvarr (a sorcerer); Mackenzie Crook - Orell/Cedric; Ralph Ineson - Dagmar Cleftjaw/Jarl; Gary Oliver - Braavosi ship captain/Gregory; Mark Lewis Jones - Shagga son of Dolf/King Olaf; Finton McKeown - Amory Lorch/King Odin; Wayne Foskett - Lord Rickard Stark (cut from series I think)/John Howden; Grahame Fox - an iron born at Mount Caitlin/unnamed rider;Jem Wall - Olly's father/Joseph; Kevin Eldon - actor in the play Arya sees in Braavos/jester to King Alined. A lady at Quora also mentioned that in the Sam Neill movie version of Merlin Lena Heady played Guinevere.
Harking back to Downton Abbey James Faulkner (Randall Tarly) played Lord Sindery but that's not till season 5. He was also in Da Vinci's Demons but I'm not sure which part he played.
A bit off-topic but at the end of 2012 (when Merlin finished) Hypable did a fan-casting of ASOIAF characters with Merlin actors. Some of the characters were in fact lost in adaptation but I don't think there will be any spoilers if I post the link. Fan-castings are only a bit of fun anyway https://www.hypable.com/a-month-of-merl ... f-thrones/
If they'd kept the character Katie McGrath has been fan cast for here (not Lyanna Stark though some people did fan cast her for Lyanna) in the show I think Ms McGrath could have been suitable - still she's busy in Supergirl so I suppose she's not complaining.

I noticed a lot of them, in both Merlin and GOT but not all.
Tom Hopper also played in both. He was sir Percival in Merlin and he played Dickon Tarly in season 7 of GOT.
I've seen the movie where Carice and Liam play lovers. Very strange to see them both together in other roles and she's so different from Melisandre.
