Re: Odds of Dany Winning

No spoilers please, but what do you guys think the odds are of Dany taking the Iron Throne? I personally would be extremely disapointed if she never took it after 7 seasons of following her story. I always thought she would take the IT in season 7 but now she is planning a pact with Cersei, the Nig...

Re: Wait, so are D&D producing the spin-offs or not?

Just for completeness here the link to GRRM's blog on the subject: http://grrm.livejournal.com/536859.html I'm thinking of two possible spinoffs - Game of Thrones Enterprise , which is about the Valyrians first learning to train their dragons and Game of Thrones Voyager about a shipload of Westeros...

Re: What else is in your "Fantasy Library"?

Chronicles of Narnia - It's not really a typical "fantasy" per se, and obviously it's more of a kid's series. Most people know of one or two books, but I read all 7 of them. I can't even remember how young I was when I read it, and I hardly remember anything. Really, all I remember was that not all...

Re: Curmudgeon comments

I guess we have to accept it's magic! Y'know, I'm good with that. It's what I signed on for. I'm not going to try to figure out how something as massive as a dragon can fly, either - that's what dragons do, it's magic, I'm good. And if somebody mentioned that Littlefinger used a magic spell to get ...

Wait, so are D&D producing the spin-offs or not?

When I first heard news about the inevitable GoT spin-offs, I remember hearing that Benioff & Weiss would be staying on as executive producers, as mentioned in this article: http://watchersonthewall.com/hbo-developing-four-game-thrones-spinoffs/. Then, I read that D&D would be producing another dram...

Re: Curmudgeon comments

How does a raven find a commander that’s hundreds of miles from his home castle? To be honest, I've got no clue. But I do know that messenger pigeons were a real thing in real history, and somehow they made those work. You also mentioned that they've been stuck in the same technological age for 900...

Re: Chaos is a ladder...

The use of "whom" had almost died out of informal English. (The language doesn't have many case variations.) But very recently "whom" and "whomever" have enjoyed a massive revival; I have no idea why. Sadly they are often wrongly used. I think we were better off without them. I hope they don't go b...

Re: AGOT special edition

You may have a point. It very deservedly has quite a legion of fans. Def deservedly! A few season premieres broke viewing records. It broke Emmy records. It might be the most DLd show too. Not to mention the wide range of demographics that most shows don't hit altogether. Amazing book series origin...

Re: The winds of winter release date

There was a news item recently that indicated that HBO was not releasing the final season of GOT (6 ninety minute episodes) until 2019. I'm not sure how authentic the story was, and have since forgotten where I read it. But if true, we may get WOW before the next season. And seriously, stop pretend...

Re: Chaos is a ladder...

Doesn't matter whether Bran knows or not, because I don't think he will care either way. We saw how disconnected he was when saying goodbye to Meera, and we know that he doesn't really consider himself a Stark anymore. He's the three eyed raven, he's got bigger fish to fry, such as the incoming nigh...
