Re: Potential biggest GOT shock ever final episode season 7?

Dany was fireproof her whole life (no blood magic required) as evident in S1E1, when she walked into a bath of hot water that her maids told her not to step into or she would be burned. I remember the scene, as it was the first time we got to see Emilia Clarke's wonderfully nude behind. :P Beauteou...

Re: Sansa's Reaction to Arya's List

(I posted this as a comment in the Unsullied Recap but I figured I'd re-post here:) My take on Sansa’s reaction when she was watching Arya spar: Sansa first heard of Arya’s list in the crypt, before she knew anything about Arya’s evolution. She might’ve dismissed it as a kid’s fantasy. Later, when B...

Re: Is Jaime dead?

For me this would be a no-brainer - of course Jaime isn't dead. Except , according to Nikolaj, "The actors were told, 'One of our main characters is about to die'”. And I don't know if Bronn rates as a "main character". Could be Randyll Tarly, I guess. Or Noah Syndergaard or maybe Dorthaki With Two ...

Is Jaime dead?

While we wait to find out... As far as his character arc, it could easily end here. He knows he's on the side of the crazies but can't help himself because of his love for his sister. So he's at an impasse. His death might be more important to the story than his continuing on doing the same things. ...

Re: Potential biggest GOT shock ever final episode season 7?

If the melting point of a gold-like alloy is low enough to melt that quicky in a soup pot, then it shouldn't be able to kill a grown man in 10 seconds. Burn him badly, sure. But kill him that fast? Nope, I'm just not buying it. I'll stick to my caramel theory.

Latin has (had) different words for brother and sister, and there is zero reason to think that Valyrians lacked these words, too.
But didn't they just go out of their way to say that one Valyrian noun ("Prince") was genderless? Why assume "valonquar" isn't also?

Re: Potential biggest GOT shock ever final episode season 7?

I read an interesting article about that, though I can't remember where I found it. Basically, it explained that, while pure gold wouldn't melt at that temperature, there are many gold compounds/alloys that would. It is easier to believe that than it is to believe that Drogo's jewelry was solid gol...

Re: Howland Reed?

As far as I can tell, the fan theory that Lyanna had twins and that Ned and Howland each took one (Jon and Meera) is still possible. So Meera might have more than a named sword and a strong back to add to the story. Personally, I love to see it happen - just to screw with the Sullied and Unsullied a...

Re: Potential biggest GOT shock ever final episode season 7?

Viserys died from molten gold while Dany commented that "fire cannot kill a dragon." That really bothered me when they did it. A wood fire is approximately 1100F and a dung fire around 640F. Gold melts at 1948F. My theory is that it wasn't gold at all but caramel and Viserys died of sugar shock. Ju...
